Privacy Policy

Effective 25 September 2026 · applies to the Streakflame iOS and watchOS apps

Streakflame is built so that the answer to “who can see my habits?” is: you.

Your habits

Your habit names, schedules, goals, and check-in history live on your device, in the app's own storage. We have no servers and no user accounts, so there is no copy with us — we couldn't read your habits if we wanted to.

iCloud sync (optional, off by default)

If you have Streakflame Pro and turn on Sync with iCloud in Settings, your habits and check-in history are stored in your personal iCloud account (Apple's CloudKit, private database) so they can follow you to a new phone or a reinstall. That copy belongs to your Apple Account: Apple encrypts it, it counts toward your iCloud storage, and we cannot access it — it never touches any server of ours, because we don't have any. Turn sync off at any time; everything stays on your device, and the copy already in your iCloud remains yours to manage (iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage).

Apple Health (optional, off by default)

You can link a habit to a Health metric — steps, exercise minutes, mindful minutes, workouts, or water — so the day completes automatically. Streakflame asks the system for read-only access to exactly the metrics you link, and never writes anything to Health.

Health data never leaves your device. It is never sent to us or to anyone else, never included in analytics or crash reports, never synced to iCloud by Streakflame, and appears in your own data exports only as the ordinary day amount it produced (for example “8,421” on a steps habit) — never as raw Health samples. Unlinking a habit or revoking access in iOS Settings stops auto-completion immediately; the days already recorded remain yours.

What Streakflame does send

Anonymous usage and crash data (optional)

With Help improve Streakflame turned on in Settings, the app sends anonymized usage events (which screens are opened, which features are used — as fixed categories and bucketed counts, never habit names or any free text) and crash reports, through Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics. This is never linked to your identity — there is no account and no user ID — and never used to track you across apps; the ad-free variant of the SDK is used and ad personalization is disabled. Turn it off in Settings at any time.

Purchase validation

If you buy Streakflame Pro, the purchase is processed by Apple and validated through RevenueCat, which holds an anonymous record of the entitlement so the app knows Pro is yours (including after a reinstall). No name, email, or account is attached to it. This part is not optional: it is how the app knows you paid, so it continues even if you turn off Help improve Streakflame.

Purchase revenue measurement (optional)

With Help improve Streakflame turned on, a completed Pro purchase is also reported to Google Firebase Analytics as a purchase event carrying the amount, the currency and the product identifier, taken from Apple's own record of the transaction — never a receipt, never your name or Apple Account, and never linked to an identity. Turning the Settings toggle off stops this along with the rest of the usage data; it does not affect purchase validation above.

Live configuration (Firebase Remote Config)

At launch and about twice a day, the app fetches a small set of on/off settings from Google Firebase Remote Config: switches for features the app already contains (for example the ready-made habits on the first screen, the starter shield, the free shield save, iCloud sync, Health auto-complete, the deadline Live Activity and two one-time prompts), and the number of shields a new habit starts with, within limits built into the app. This lets us switch off something that misbehaves, or adjust a giveaway, without an app update. It cannot add content, cannot turn on anything the app ships switched off, and never takes away anything you have earned or bought. The request carries the same anonymous Firebase installation identifier as the usage data above and no habit data. It is configuration rather than measurement, so it is not covered by the Help improve Streakflame toggle and happens whether or not that is on. With no connection, or with nothing set on our side, the app behaves exactly as built.

That is the complete list. No advertising, no tracking, no data sale, no App Tracking Transparency prompt — there is nothing to prompt about.

Notifications, widgets, Live Activities, the watch

Reminders and streak alerts are scheduled locally through Apple's notification system. Widgets, the Control Center button, Live Activities and the Apple Watch app read their data from the app's own on-device storage (Apple's App Group container and the watch's local mirror). None of this involves any third party.

The privacy lock

The optional Face ID / Touch ID / passcode lock uses Apple's LocalAuthentication on the device. Streakflame never sees your biometric data — the system only tells the app “unlocked” or “not”.

Deleting your data

Delete the app and its on-device data goes with it. If you used iCloud sync, the copy in your iCloud is yours: remove it in iOS Settings → your name → iCloud → Manage Account Storage → Streakflame, or simply leave sync off. Usage analytics can be turned off in Settings; crash reports and analytics already sent are retained by Firebase for a limited period and are anonymous.
